SELECT.SOUNDS is a hub and platform upon which local creatives are encouraged to gather and express themselves.

Conversations with my friend Elliot Farnsworth back in 2018 - about the lack of options for vinyl lovers in our hometown of Nottingham - led to the creation of our enterprise in Jan 2019. We began to grow an online presence, connecting with likeminded young people over social media. Summer '19, we were in talks with local businesses, which led to our launch events in August. By day, we sold records from Mimm Store's shop front, collaborating with a trio of local DJs who set the scene for the crowds to gather. For the night, we planned and delivered a 120-capacity event, with more prominent artists entertaining the crowds at a different city-centre venue.

Following several similar events and charity fundraisers, the focus has shifted towards developing a website of our own (using WordPress CMS): a platform to which local creatives are invited to contribute work of their own, from written reviews or articles, to music mixes and collaborative projects.

Overseeing the website and its multiple e-commerce pages involves stock management and writing product collateral. My other work includes artist interviews, written reviews and information articles.
